The DeGood Foundation expands Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to the City of Williamsburg and James City County in February.
WILLIAMSBURG, VA.: The DeGood Foundation, the local program partner for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, is expanding the book-gifting program to the Greater Williamsburg community with a special event on February 15th. The Foundation currently operates the program in the Virginia Peninsula, Middle Peninsula, and Isle of Wight regions, serving over 5,000 children each month with free books.
The expansion of the program to Greater Williamsburg, made possible by the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg, Sentara Health, and the Williamsburg Community Foundation will allow children to receive a free, high-quality, age-appropriate book in the mail each month from birth until their fifth birthday.
In partnership with Frothy Moon Brewhouse and the Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce, The DeGood Foundation will be hosting a ribbon cutting and launch event on February 15th, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Frothy Moon to commemorate the expansion. Families will be able to enroll their children at the event and receive their first book on-site while supplies last.
Event participants can also enjoy Dolly-inspired food and drink by Dominion Dogs and Frothy Moon, music, children’s book readings in heated pods, and mini golf.
After the event, families in the City of Williamsburg and James City County can enroll in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library by visiting www.degoodfoundation.org or www.imaginationlibrary.com.
